My Emu Oil Mix

2.5oz of coconut oil

 In my last post, I shared that I recently bought a small bottle of emu oil. I decided to mix the emu oil with my coconut oil and use both oils on my scalp. Unlike essential oils (ex. peppermint oil), the emu oil can be used without being diluted. However, I diluted it because it is rather expensive compared to the other oils that I use. To recap, emu oil costs $5.75 per ounce, while coconut oil costs $1.09 per ounce.

I started out with approximately 2.5oz of coconut oil, and then slowly added the emu oil. I stopped at 0.25oz, because the emu oil scent started to overpower the coconut oil scent. The coconut oil smells delicious alone, but now it smells a little "nutty" like the emu oil.

I'll use the mix like I normally use the coconut oil, which is usually every 2-3 days on my scalp. I will also occasionally use it to seal in my moisturizer.
